Summary.... Hulu, the News Corp/NBC Universal joint venture, is already generating a positive gross margin and demonstrating an online TV distribution model that is showing up the weaknesses of Google's YouTube platform. Next year we forecast Hulu will generate gross revenues of $175m - similar to YouTube but representing 26 times more revenue per stream than the Google-owned site. The crucial difference is Hulu's much greater amount of premium TV and movie content and its link to the TV schedules of its partners' TV networks.
